Dr. Shepherd is a historian and mix methods research methodologist. Her research includes community economics, public (and educational) policy. Her major research includes data analysis, system theory, econometric models, system dynamics, prediction synthesis, case studies and community demographic trends.

Critical Race Theory is legal theory (see the late Derrick Bell). Systems of laws are taught in law school. Teaching inclusion American History is not Critical Race Theory. The United States is a beautiful place with a diverse population and thus history should be taught with inclusion.

Current working project explores inequalities in graduate programs and how that experience correlates to academic outcomes.
